FOR ADULT CHILDREN CARING FOR AGING PARENTS

Your parent needs more help.

Where do you even begin?

You’re noticing changes. You’re worried about making the wrong decision. And somehow, you’ve become the person everyone expects to have the answers.

I’m Donna Schiehsl, a registered nurse. I’ll help you sort through your concerns, understand your options, and decide what to do next—with practical guidance and Christian encouragement.

Caregiver Confidence Program · 90 minutes with me plus a month of text support, book & class

YOU CAN START RIGHT HERE

Tell me what’s happening with your parent.

You don’t need the right terminology or a perfectly organized list. Bring the questions you keep turning over in your mind.

We’ll look at your family’s situation together and work out which steps deserve your attention first.

Donna Schiehsl, RN

Your nurse. Your questions. Time to talk.

DOES ANY OF THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?

You’re trying to do right by them.
But you keep second-guessing yourself.

“Mom says she’s fine. I’m not so sure.”

You notice changes in her routines, memory, or ability to manage at home. You wonder how to bring it up and what kind of help to consider.

“My siblings have opinions. I have the responsibility.”

You’re handling the calls, appointments, and decisions. You need a way to ask for help and talk about what your parent actually needs.

“I’m afraid I’ll overlook something important.”

You search for answers, then find more questions. You want someone who can listen to the whole situation and help you sort it out.

You don’t have to become an expert in aging to be a caring daughter or son. You can bring these questions to me.

A NURSE TO HELP YOU THINK IT THROUGH

Let’s turn “What do I do?”
into your next steps.

I’m Donna, RN with over 30 years of home health care experience, and founder of Aging Parent Support Society and author of Don’t Waste This Season. I bring my nursing perspective and Christian faith to the conversations families often struggle to have on their own.

In our private 90-minute session, I’ll listen to what’s happening, help you organize your concerns, and talk through practical options that fit your parent and your family.

We can discuss getting more help, preparing questions for your parent’s healthcare team, involving siblings, or approaching a difficult conversation.

And when another question comes up?
You have a month of text access to me—a nurse who already knows your situation.

WHAT WE’LL WORK ON TOGETHER

A clearer way forward starts
with one conversation.

Your consultation is built around your concerns. We’ll use our time to:

Sort out what matters most.

Talk through what has changed, what is worrying you, and which questions need attention first.

Consider your options.

Discuss support to explore, questions to ask, and how to keep your parent’s wishes part of the conversation.

Decide where to begin.

Identify manageable next steps for your family, with continued text support as new questions arise.

THE CAREGIVER CONFIDENCE PROGRAM

Time with me.
Support beyond our conversation.

Before you get started

What if I don’t know what kind of help we need?

That’s a good reason to have this conversation. Tell me what you’re noticing and what is worrying you. We’ll sort through your questions together.

Will I actually work with you?

Yes. Your private consultation and included month of text support are with me, Donna Schiehsl, RN.

Is this an in-home care service?

This is guidance and education for you as a family caregiver. I can help you think through getting help, but the program does not provide an in-home aide or replace your parent’s treating healthcare team.

How does the month of text support work?

You can text me with questions during your included month, with support Monday–Saturday. We’ll clarify response arrangements when you get started. This is not a 24-hour or emergency service. Continued text support is available separately for $30 per month.

How does faith fit into the program?

Christian encouragement is part of how I support you. Alongside practical caregiving questions, there is room to talk about purpose, patience, family relationships, and caring for your parent with dignity.

You don’t need all the answers
before you ask for help.

Bring the questions about your parent that you’ve been carrying. Let’s talk through them and find your next steps together.
